Shown and discussed on pg. 249 of THE AMERICAN MILITARY SADDLE, 1775-1945, this 3 1/2 in. girth is of the Pat. 1916 style and could be used with all of the 1916/1917 officers and service saddles. It also has D-rings for the securing of other equipment such as saddle bags. It is correct for display with any of the English-rigged US saddles of the period.
