An excellent specimen of this early Indian War Trapdoor Rifle Bayonet Scabbard. This fit over the waist belt only. Sharply marked 'ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL" on the front of the frog. Very good, shiny leather with no flaking. Scabbard has 90%+ of the original blue; some slight corrosion at the tip and some normal age flaking but still very definitely blue.
