Hoffman Swivel Trapdoor Rifle Bayonet Scabbard

A very crisp scabbard and frog combination. The Hoffman swivel shows use in that one of the brass pins is worn down but the leather and stitching are just excellent. The leather is actually shiny, unusual for these early issues. The scabbard body has 95%+ of the original blue and is of the type that has the single tab looped over the back to hold the frog. The frog is of the earlier type with one rivet hole (hidden under the tab) and apparently was changed over to this later scabbard body. The top condition of both the body and the frog, however, are consistent with each other. Arsenal conversion? BAYONET IS NOT INCLUDED.
