San Antonio Arsenal Modification of Third Pattern 1876 Cartridge Belt

A rare Indian War cartridge belt from my personal collection. This rare belt, one of no more than 1000 made, is discussed and shown on pages 252 and 253 of AMERICAN MILITARY AND NAVAL BELTS 1812-1902. It has the extra leather belt added to the back to carry either the 1873 Angular Bayonet or the 1873 Trowel Bayonet. As a bonus, this belt is clearly personalized in ink on the back: "E.H. Blinn 1st Sergt. Co. F 1st Fla Vol". They just don't get better than that.
